K-12 Math and CS Education Specialist (full-time, Dallas/Fort Worth and Davis, CA areas)

 

Barobo is in a high-growth stage and is seeking two K-12 Math and CS Education Specialists, one to be based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and the other at our headquarters in Davis, CA. In this role you will build engagement and success through on-site and remote professional development and interactions with teachers, principals, and district administrators. You will need excellent interpersonal skills and instructional strengths in presenting meaningful, engaging presentations and workshops. If you are a creative problem-solver who can generate enthusiasm for math and Barobo’s programs and products, then you are just who we are looking for!

  • Provide professional development for teachers

  • Provide support for schools and school districts using Barobo curriculum and products

  • Develop and manage relationships with district administrators, math directors, STEM directors, and principals

  • Promote Barobo’s products and curriculum to school districts in California and throughout the United States via contacts, conferences, and online and in-person demos

  • Perform other related duties as assigned in a start-up environment

  • Must possess US work authorization

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Experience in C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, MATLAB or any text-based programming language

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Be a fast learner and self-starter who is comfortable taking initiative and can run with ideas and projects

  • Available to travel

  • Excited to be in an entrepreneurial role on the growth of a business with a huge societal impact

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Possess US work authorization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading professional development for teachers

  • At least 2 years of experience teaching math, CS, CTE, or STEAM at the middle school or high school level

  • Robotics and/or Arduino experience is a plus

  • Experience with K-12 robotics competitions is a plus

Education Partnerships Manager (full-time, paid)

 

Barobo is in a high-growth stage and is seeking an Education Partnerships Manager to promote and support its technologies and products, working out of its Davis, CA office.

​

Responsibilities

  • Promote Barobo’s products and curriculum to school districts across the country via contacts, conferences, and online and in-person demos

  • Discover new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound calls and emails

  • Research and identify potential contacts in school districts and counties

  • Develop and manage relationships with district administrators, math directors, STEM directors, and principals

  • Update sales and marketing contacts in spreadsheets and documents

  • Create and manage social media posts

  • Create flyers and brochures

  • Track responses to emails, phone calls, and other marketing efforts

  • Attentively listen to customer feedback and provide insights to the Barobo team

  • Answer email and phone as needed for customer support

  • Perform other related duties as assigned in a start-up environment

Required Qualifications

  • Successful sales experience in a technology field or K-12 education

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, business, marketing, economics, or technical field

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Comfortable with math up to at least the level of algebra (e.g., linear systems of equations)

  • Basic understanding and experience with computer programming (block-based or text-based)

  • High degree of organization and self-motivation 

  • Energetic, persuasive, flexible, and desire to work in a fast paced environment 

  • Significant traveling required

  • Must be able to work legally in US

Marketing and Customer Support Intern (part-time, paid)

​

The Marketing & Customer Support internship presents the opportunity to learn from and assist in Barobo’s marketing strategy and customer support process. 

​

Activities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Learn about Barobo and its products and use that knowledge to promote Barobo products and educate our customers on how we solve their problems

  • Make phone calls and send emails to prospective customers in schools and school districts

  • Track responses to emails, phone calls, social media, and other marketing efforts

  • Update marketing and sales contacts in spreadsheets and documents

  • Create and post items for social media (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.)

  • Create flyers and brochures

  • Assist in creating quotes and fulfilling and shipping orders

  • Answer questions and communicate with customers via phone and email

  • Assist in managing inventory and fulfilling orders

  • Perform other related duties as assigned in a start-up environment

​

Skills/Requirements/Experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • High degree of organization and self-motivation 

  • Energetic, persuasive, flexible, and desire to work in a fast-paced environment 

  • Must be US citizen or permanent resident

Preferred Level

  • Undergraduate: sophomore or junior

  • Previous marketing and/or customer relations experience is a plus

Robotics Production Intern (part-time, paid)

​

Barobo is seeking interns to assist in the production of Barobo robots and related products. This is a paid internship and an opportunity to gain experience in a start-up environment.

​

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret process instructions, work orders, and reports

  • Solder electronic boards for small robots

  • Assemble mechanical components

  • Test product functional performance to ensure conformance to specifications

  • Pack packages with electronic and plastic components

  • Handle the shipment of robots and related products

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

  • Perform other related duties as assigned in a start-up environment

​

Qualifications and Requirements 

  • University student status (open to all majors)

  • Ability to work efficiently

  • High attention to detail

  • Self-motivation

  • Experience with soldering is a plus

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis

  • Must possess US work authorization
