Math/CS/STEAM Professional Development and Partnerships Manager (full-time)

 

Barobo is in a high-growth stage and is seeking a Math/CS/STEAM Professional Development (PD) and Partnerships Manager, working out of its Davis, CA office.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional development for teachers

  • Provide support for schools and school districts using Barobo curriculum and products

  • Develop and manage relationships with district administrators, math directors, STEM directors, and principals

  • Promote Barobo’s products and curriculum to school districts in California and the rest of the United States via contacts, conferences, and online and in-person demos

  • Assist in hardware, software, and curriculum development and testing

  • Perform other related duties as assigned in a start-up environment

 

Qualifications and Requirements 

  • Excited to be in an entrepreneurial role on the growth of the business with a huge societal impact

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • A fast learner and self-starter who is comfortable taking initiative and can run with ideas and projects

  • Two or more years of experience teaching math, CS, CTE, or STEAM at the high school or middle school level is a plus

  • Experience in one of C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, MATLAB or any text-based programming language is a plus

  • Experience leading professional development for teachers is a plus

  • Robotics and/or Arduino experience is a plus

  • Some traveling required

  • Must possess US work authorization

EdTech Sales Specialist (full-time, paid)

 

Barobo is in a high-growth stage and is seeking an EdTech Sales Specialist to promote and support its technologies and products, working out of its Davis, CA office.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote Barobo’s products and curriculum to school districts across the country via contacts, conferences, and online and in-person demos

  • Discover new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound calls and emails

  • Research and identify potential contacts in school districts and counties

  • Develop and manage relationships with district administrators, math directors, STEM directors, and principals

  • Update sales and marketing contacts in spreadsheets and documents

  • Create and manage social media posts

  • Create flyers and brochures

  • Track responses to emails, phone calls, and other marketing efforts

  • Attentively listen to customer feedback and provide insights to the Barobo team

  • Answer email and phone as needed for customer support

  • Perform other related duties as assigned in a start-up environment

Skills/Requirements/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, business, marketing, economics, or technical field

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • High degree of organization and self-motivation 

  • Energetic, persuasive, flexible, and desire to work in a fast paced environment 

  • Previous sales and/or customer relations experience is a plus

  • College-level programming course or experience is a plus (e.g., C/C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, MATLAB, etc.)

  • Significant traveling required

  • Must be able to work legally in US

Administrative Intern for Office and Customer Support (part-time, paid)

The Administrative internship presents the opportunity to learn from and assist in Barobo’s business administration and operational logistics. 

Activities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Learn about Barobo and its products and operations

  • Assist in creating quotes and fulfilling and shipping orders

  • Answer questions and communicate with customers via phone and email

  • Schedule Zoom meetings for customers and potential customers to meet with Barobo staff

  • Assist in managing inventory

  • Assist in accounting and recordkeeping

  • Perform other related duties as assigned in a start-up environment

Skills/Requirements/Experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • High degree of organization and self-motivation 

  • Energetic, persuasive, flexible, and desire to work in a fast-paced environment 

  • Must be US citizen or permanent resident

Preferred Level

  • Undergraduate: freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior

  • Previous customer relations experience is a plus

The Marketing & Social Media internship presents the opportunity to learn from and assist in Barobo’s marketing strategy and process. 

Activities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Learn about Barobo and its products and use that knowledge to promote Barobo products and educate our customers on how we solve their problems

  • Create and post items for social media (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.)

  • Write email copy for outreach to school districts and schools

  • Create flyers and brochures

  • Update marketing and sales contacts in spreadsheets and documents

  • Track responses to emails, phone calls, social media, and other marketing efforts

  • Perform other related duties as assigned in a start-up environment
