Partner Experience Manager (full-time)

Location: Davis, CA

 

Barobo is in a high-growth stage and is seeking a Partner Experience Manager who is passionate about making a difference in the lives and futures of K-12 students. In this role you will build engagement and success through interactions with teachers, principals, and district administrators, as well as provide on-site and remote customer support and demos.

 

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a remote or hybrid position. Candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance of Davis, CA, where Barobo’s main office is located, or be willing to relocate. Applicants must be US citizens.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing clients, including district administrators, math directors, STEM directors, and principals

  • Act as a trusted advisor to educators, providing insights and solutions that enhance educational practices and outcomes

  • Provide support for schools and school districts using Barobo curriculum and products

  • Respond to inquiries from schools, school districts, and teachers, make recommendations, prepare quotes, and follow up on quotes, orders, and licenses

  • Provide administrative support to schools and districts for RoboPlay competitions

  • Provide administrative support to teachers enrolled in the Barobo Computer Science Supplementary Teaching Credential Authorization program

  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, sales, product, and customer support) to ensure client needs are met and exceeded

  • Manage social media platforms and channels

  • Perform other related duties as assigned in a team environment

 

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in K-12 teaching and/or administration (teaching experience in math and/or computer science preferred), or 1+ years in K-12 education or edtech sales 

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, business, math, CS, or related field

  • Strong understanding of educational technology, curriculum needs, and challenges facing educational institutions

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients

  • Strong administrative skills and verbal, written, and electronic communication skills

  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software and Google office suite

  • Time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Flexibility and adaptability to change

  • Strong sense of urgency with a bias towards action

  • Located within commuting distance of Barobo’s Davis, CA office, or willing to relocate

  • Occasional travel

Benefits

  • Barobo offers a competitive total compensation package that includes a 401(k) with company match, paid vacation, and health, dental, and vision insurance.

  • Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base salary range for this full-time position is $60,000 to $100,000. An individual’s base salary is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

K-12 Math and CS Education Specialist (full-time)

Location: Davis, CA

 

Barobo is seeking a K-12 Math and CS Education Specialist, to be based at our main office in Davis, CA. In this role you will create innovative, standards-based lessons, activities, and resources for TK-12 students learning math, computer science, and STEAM, as well as building engagement and success through on-site and remote professional development and interactions with teachers and school and district administrators. You will need excellent interpersonal skills and instructional strengths in presenting meaningful, engaging presentations and workshops. If you are a creative problem-solver who is interested in transforming TK-12 math education, then you are just who we are looking for!

Qualifications 

  • At least 2 years of experience teaching math at the secondary school level

  • Experience in K-12 math, CS, or STEAM curriculum development

  • Experience conducting professional development for teachers

  • Experience in C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, MATLAB, or any text-based programming language

  • Robotics experience is a plus

  • Experience with K-12 robotics competitions is a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Be a fast learner and self-starter who is comfortable taking initiative and can run with ideas and projects

  • Available for travel for professional development sessions

Senior Software Engineer, Web Applications (full-time)

Location: Davis, CA

 

Barobo is in a high-growth stage and is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for technology and education. This person will be responsible for leading architecture, design, and development for Barobo’s main web-based integrated learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build, refine, and maintain the full-stack web application for the RoboBlocky platform (www.roboblocky.com)

  • Collaborate with the executive team to translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Utilize a variety of programming languages, web development tools, database technologies, cloud services, networking and security tools, and AI tools

  • Assist in monitoring and optimizing real-time product performance

  • Respond in a timely manner to fix bugs that have been identified, whether from internal or external sources

  • Identify technical problems and develop solutions, including for cybersecurity

  • Help to develop new standardized processes around Barobo’s software development lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends

  • Work in a fast-paced, agile environment to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions

  • Perform other related duties as assigned in a team environment

 

Qualifications and Requirements 

  • Passion for improving education through technology

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields

  • 3+ years experience in delivering full-stack web applications (front-end, back-end, and cloud hosting technologies)

  • Significant working experience with PHP, Node.js, HTML, CSS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, nginx, and Linux, as well as front-end technologies (e.g., React) and cloud hosting technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++ (preferred)

  • Understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of AI tools, and experience using them to improve software productivity, quality, and results

  • Knowledge and experience in implementing cybersecurity best practices

  • Strong communication and time management skills

  • Strong sense of urgency with a bias towards action

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Must be a US citizen

 

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $170,000, with an accompanying equity grant. An individual’s base salary will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
