Education Technology Specialist (full-time)

The Education Technology Specialist is responsible for the effective application of Barobo educational robotics technology by educators and students. You will develop applications and curriculum, provide pre and post- sale support, and provide training for educators on integrating Barobo robotics programs into their teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers/schools/districts/colleges/afterschool programs to integrate Barobo robotics technology into their CS and STEAM education

  • Develop applications, curriculum, tutorials, videos using Barobo robotics hardware and software

  • Provide training for CS and STEAM teachers

  • Make presentations and provide tech support to customers

  • Participate in tradeshows and conferences

  • Create and keep product documentation up to date.

  • Make appropriate product recommendations and provide quotations for products in accordance with pricing and delivery policy.

  • Respond to telephone calls or correspondence from customers

  • Work within CRM system to capture customer communications to help turn leads into business partners

  • Generate RMA forms, document information from customers; perform follow up on sales activity

  • Perform other related duties as assigned in a start-up environment

Qualifications and Requirements 

  • Took or taught a programming course in C, C++, or Java with a strong programming experience

  • Strong Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, Math, Physics, Education Technology, Math Education, Engineering Education, or other relevant field.

  • Excellent teaching / training skills

  • A self-starter who is comfortable taking initiative and can run with ideas or projects, able to wear many different hats

  • Strong computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel

  • Extensive travelling is required

  • Web development experience is a plus

  • Social media promotion and marketing experience is a plus

  • Teaching experience is a plus

  • Experience conducting professional development for teachers is a plus

  • Robotics, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi experience is a plus

  • Excited to be in an entrepreneurial role and make a real impact on the growth of the business with a huge societal impact

  • Must possess US work authorization

Marketing/Sales Intern (part-time)

Support marketing and sales of innovative robotic systems with Barobo, a start-up robotics company developing educational robotics based in downtown Davis. This internship presents the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects in assisting in Barobo’s marketing and sales strategy and process.

 

Interns have the opportunity to grow with the company in regards to role, responsibility, and compensation. This position will begin as a paid part-time internship that could evolve into a full-time internship and later part-time and/or full-time employment.

Activities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Learn about Barobo and its products and use that knowledge to educate our customers on how we solve their problems

  • Attentively listen to customer feedback and provide insights to the Barobo team on customers and how to modify the sales process 

  • Sell Linkbot and related products to schools and school districts through inbound and outbound calling, emailing, and social media

  • Discover new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound calls and emails

  • Manage sales pipeline and relationships

  • Prepare newsletters, social media posts, and online ads

  • Take and edit photos and videos of products and robotics activities

  • Research and identify potential contacts in school districts and counties

  • Update marketing and sales contacts in spreadsheets and documents

  • Track responses to emails, ads, and other marketing efforts

  • Update and edit web pages and online activities (knowledge of HTML not required)

  • Answer email and phone as needed for customer support

 

Skills/Requirements/Experience

  • Experience working with social media: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, etc.

  • Knowledge of online advertising channels and methods

  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign

  • Photo and video editing experience

  • Experience with Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets, or equivalent

  • Customer support experience

  • Capable of initiating and maintaining strong personal relationships 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • High degree of organization and self-motivation 

  • Energetic, persuasive, flexible, and desire to work in a fast paced environment 

  • Must be US citizen or permanent resident

 

Preferred Level

  • Undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior, recent grad, or MBA student

  • Previous marketing and sales experience is a big plus

  • Track record of related extracurricular activities is a plus
