Professional Learning for Barobo's RoboBlocky Math, CS with Robotics, Engineering Design with Robotics, and Afterschool & Summer Robotics and Robotics-Math Curricula (either as supplementary or full curriculum)

Barobo supports educators pursuing a Computer Science Supplementary Teaching Credential through UC Merced Professional and Continuing Education (PACE). UC Merced PACE also provides Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for participating educators.

Barobo provides professional learning sessions for teachers and administrators at school districts that choose to use the RoboBlocky Math, STEAM, Computer Science, and Engineering with Robotics Pathways, and Expanded Learning with Robotics curricula.
Sessions can be arranged to fit a district's needs and schedule, and follow-up sessions can be arranged as well. Sessions are held online (see schedule below), but if there are enough participants from a district, in-person sessions can be scheduled at the district's site, and sessions can be customized by grade level (TK-2, 3-6, 7-12).
The sessions cover an introduction to the RoboBlocky integrated learning environment and TK-12 curriculum, its use with virtual and hardware robots, and its Learning Management System (LMS). Previous coding or robotics experience is not required. Topics include:
-
Enhancing Math, CS, and STEAM education using robots and the RoboBlocky Math, STEAM, Computer Science, Engineering with Robotics Pathways, Expanded Learngin with Robotics to stimulate students’ creativity and imagination
-
Using the Learning Management System in RoboBlocky to manage classes, add student accounts, assign homework, grade student submitted homework, and provide feedback, as well as create tests and assessment
-
Bringing student-friendly robotics and making technologies into distance learning, classrooms, CTE pathways, and after-school programs
-
Programming and controlling both virtual and hardware robots using block-based programming and understanding the connection to C programming
-
Applying coding and robotics activities to subjects such as math, science, engineering, and art
-
Connecting coding and robotics activities to state and national standards
