Unlike robotics systems designed for a single purpose or grade level, RoboBlocky is built around one robot—the patented Linkbot™ programmable robot building block. As students progress from Transitional Kindergarten through Grade 12, they continue using the same robot while expanding their learning through Activity Mats, OmniBot, Arduino & Sensor-Based Robotics, and a versatile collection of accessories.


This integrated approach enables students to explore mathematics, STEAM, computer science, and engineering design while developing programming, computational thinking, and engineering design skills through one cohesive robotics system.

Linkbot

The Programmable Robot Building Block

 

The patented Linkbot™ is a reconfigurable modular robot that serves as a programmable robot building block. With precision actuators, wireless connectivity, and Barobo's patented SnapConnect™ technology, Linkbot™ can be quickly reconfigured without special tools using connectors, wheels, Arduino modules, sensors, manipulatives, and accessories.

Students use Linkbot™ to build mathematical manipulatives, engineering structures, robot machines, and physical computing projects while applying mathematics, engineering design, programming, and computational thinking to authentic real-world challenges.

Activity Mats

Activity Mats provide engaging learning environments that connect coding, robotics, and mathematics through authentic hands-on exploration while supporting RoboBlocky lessons and activities, RoboPlay™ Adventures, and RoboPlay™ Challenges.

MathGrid™ (TK–12)

A versatile coordinate-based learning environment that supports programming, mathematical modeling, measurement, graphing, and robotics activities throughout the RoboBlocky curriculum.

RoboVillage™ & RoboCount™ (TK–K)

Introduce young learners to coding, sequencing, counting, directions, and mathematical thinking through RoboPlay™ Adventures.

RoboTown™ (Grades 1–8)

Supports mathematics, programming, engineering design, and computational thinking through RoboPlay™ Challenges.

RoboExploration™ (Grades 9–12)

Supports advanced robotics, engineering design, computational thinking, and authentic real-world problem solving through increasingly sophisticated RoboPlay™ Challenges.

All of these activity mats are also available as virtual backgrounds within the RoboBlocky Platform, enabling students to develop, run, and test the same programs using virtual robots before seamlessly transitioning to physical robots on the corresponding activity mats. This unique capability integrates virtual and physical robotics into one seamless learning experience.

From Inspiration to Innovation

Students begin by exploring and building proven mathematical manipulatives and robot machines. They share ideas, analyze successful designs, and generalize the mathematical, engineering, and programming concepts they have learned. They then apply this knowledge to design, build, program, test, and refine original robot machines to solve new engineering challenges.
